Spanish Hills Neighborhood Boulder Colorado
Spanish Hills is accessible from South Boulder Road. The neighborhood is bordered loosely by South Boulder Road to the north, McCaslin Blvd to the east, a portion of Hwy 36 to the south, and 68th st to the west.
It's nestled up against the mesa so many homes have outstanding views. In fact, national author, Boulder/Denver-based, Stephen White's character Dr. Alan Gregory lives in this neighborhood.
MY TAKE ON THIS NEIGHBORHOOD:
The salient point about Spanish Hills is that it's a quiet area with tremendous views from most locations. The tough thing about Spanish Hills and other neighborhoods around the Boulder area is simply finding something for sale.
The homes in this community are large, most with more than 4,000 finished square feet. Some of these homes are still original construction from the 1950's, and 1960's, however, that's less likely today as compared to even one year ago. Others are relatively new, and most all of them are custom built homes.
WHAT’S NEW TODAY:
The largest change in Spanish Hills is that prices are way up, and very few 'older' homes ripe for remodeling are left. Some homes have been built or re-built, the views are still great from many locations, and in many respects, this neighborhood is often overlooked by people relocating from out of the area, which may be a mistake if you want quiet 'country like' seclusion, and easy access to Boulder and Denver.
Most of the lots in Spanish Hills are very large. In fact some of them are over an acre. Spanish Hills is also zoned for horses which is unique in a neighborhood so close to so many amenities. Spanish Hills is a short distance to golf courses, parks,lakes, open space, just minutes from downtown Boulder, and has reasonably easy access to the Boulder Turnpike (Hwy 36).
