Ponderosa Mobile Home Park Days Numbered

Boulder's Ponderosa Mobile Home Park up on north Broadway may be changing. The City Council is set to approve a change to move out the mobile homes, and replace those with fixed-structure homes.

The City of Boulder purchased the mobile home park in 2017 for more than $4 million.

It'll take about 10 years to complete the conversion. Plans include using federal disaster recovery funds Boulder received due to the 2013 floods.

Most of the homes are privately owned, and will be allowed to remain in place during the development.

The expectation is that the city will replace mobile homes with 73 fixed structures including single family homes, duplexes, triplexes and four-plexes.

The plans appear to include all these as deed restricted, permanently affordable housing built in partnership with Flatirons Habitat For Humanity.
