A Finnish company who’s had a solid presence in our local area, Vaisala, is building its United States-based headquarters in Louisville, CO.
Vaisala Corporation already has many employees in the area. I’ve had the pleasure of helping many of them find homes. Now, with a new commitment to our community in building the HQ here in Louisville, we may see a significant impact again on the local Job Market.
Vaisala’s focus is on environmental and weather monitoring. Everything from equipment to monitor weather and road conditions for information gathering that could be used by local municipalities, to environmental conditions as far away as Mars.
We can likely expect the construction phase for the new HQ to last over a couple of years. Vaisala is planning a 30,000 facility next to its current location at 194 South Taylor Ave (In the Colorado Technology Center between Hwy 42 and Dillon road). Once the building is complete, Vaisala will move from the current facility into its new digs.
