Since the State of Colorado passed a law that gives municipalities more control over approval of oil and gas drilling, struggles have been dominant at the local level. Broomfield City Council recently approved a moratorium that stops processing or approval of any applications until November 14, 2019
Many residents and at least one council member wanted the moratorium to last at least 10 months.
