Boulder’s Wagon Wheel Lodge is Boulder Adventure Lodge

Boulder’s Adventure Lodge is having a grand opening celebration on May 17th from 12:00 noon until 1:30 PM at 91 Fourmile Canyon Drive.

Originally the Wagon Wheel Lodge, which was purchased in 1945 as a boarding house / bed and breakfast for CU Students, it has become now a destination for outdoor enthusiasts.

Before it was popular for hotels and motels to accommodate pet owners, the Wagon Wheel was one of  the few places visitors to Boulder could stay with their pets. I remember a friend visiting from Aspen who chose to stay at the Fourmile Canyon location, specifically because he had his dob with him, and it was pretty much the only option for him.

The A-Lodge as some call it, will have the celebration at the historic main building of the 27 room facility. It’s been renovated since the current owners bought it in 2014, and now has the designation as a Boulder County landmark.

There’s more to the A-Lodge than just an historic building and 27 rooms.

The current owners began with a vision to create a destination for outdoor enthusiasts, and it’s been popular for a while with visiting rock climbers.

There are 12 hostel-style beds, sites for tent and car camping, and even a slackline park.

Apparently many people like to gather on the property after biking or climbing even if they’re not staying over night at the A-Lodge. It’s become a gathering spot for the outdoor community.

I’d seriously enjoy having the opportunity to talk to you about your plans if you’re moving, or if you know someone who is considering a move, and needs some straight answers.
