Agricultural Water Threatened

There are two proposals to divert water from the Cache la Poudre river, and to store it for use by over a dozen Northern Colorado water providers.

Essentially, the idea is to make this water available for domestic use, at the expense of local farms.

When the Arkansas Valley water rights were sold to Aurora and some other Denver area municipalities, we saw the dying off of small southern Colorado towns.

People are concerned that this same thing will happen in Northern Colorado.

As more people move to Colorado's front range area, and more homes are built, this kind of change in water rights and usage is inevitable.
